The weekend provided some excellent results for the boys in the baggy green with the A1’s A2’s and A3’s all in commanding positions after the first day of play in their two day matches, the only downside was a big defeat for the A4’s and the fact that I didn’t take out the big prize in Sundays 100 club final draw. |

Light Pass Cricket Club - Established 1934 |

HOME OF THE BAGGY GREEN During the 2009/2010 season, the club is fielding 4 senior sides (A1-Reserves, A2, A3, A4) as well as 3 junior sides (U16, U14, U12). Senior trainings are being held at Stockwell Oval, kicking off at 5:30 pm each Thursday night under coach Craig Todd. On the 14th of November 2009, the club formally celebrated its 75th Anniversary with a dinner at the Vine Inn Hotel in Nuriootpa. Over 150 people were in attendance and were entertained by guest speakers, and former test cricketers Darren Lehmann, and Jason Gillespie. Those in attendance also witnessed the release of the clubs anniversary wine, produced entirely with grapes sourced (and donated) from club members vineyards. Wine is still available for purchased – from the club, or through the Stockwell Hotel, along with a history of the club booklet and club stubby holder. Senior subs are now overdue - see Matthew Mattner to get yourself financial for the 2009/2010 season. |
