Duckpond Bill - 26th February
It was a bit of a disappointing weekend for the boys in the baggy green, the A1's now seem destined for relegation while the A2's suffered their first loss for some time and the Under 16's didn't quite bring home the points either.  The A5's provided a ray of sunshine recording a good win on Saturday that puts them back in the mix for the finals.
A1's – The A1's played a one-day match against Gawler Central on Saturday at Stockwell Main Oval.  Bowling first The lads got off to a good start taking 4/62 in the first 20 overs. Brad bowled well early and was rewarded with a wicket and eventually finished with 2/31.
After the drinks break the Tigers started to push the runrate but good spells by Tim Taylor  and Wade Gripton (1/9) held them at bay before a frenzied last ten overs in which the visitor helped themselves to over a run a ball finishing with 7/178. Mick Braunack bowled well early but his second spell was costly and he finished with 2/36.
The total still seemed with in reach but a disastrous start spelled the end for the boys in the baggy green and it was only a gritty partnership between Mick Braunack (18) and Sam Schmidt (37) that prevented a very early finish to the day as the side was bundled out for 113 runs.

A2's – After posting a disappointing score last week in their match with Gawler Central the Wanderers were going to have to work hard to pull the match out of the fire.  Opening bowlers Syd Miller and Andrew Nash worked hard but a combination of good batting and a little luck saw the Tigers lose their next wicket with only one run to win.  After that partnership was broken the lads started making inroads but Gawler opted to declare with 16 over to play and have another bowl.  Mick Baumann bowled well over a couple of spells taking 2/43 while Syd toiled away bowling 16 overs 1/57, Matty Mattner was the most successful bowler taking 3/56.
Light Pass had another bat and at the end of play they were 2/42 with Paul Braunack on 11 n/o and Marty Gallasch 15 n/o.
The man of the match was Ryan Schiller.

A5's – The 5's played Angaston at Stockwell No.2 in a must win match heading toward the end of the minor round.
The lads batted first and once again it was the pairing of Brad Ellbourn and Jimmy Braunack who got proceeding of to a good start.  The opening batsmen batted solidly and scored at a goo rate in the first session taking the tally to 0/70 at the break.  Brad was the first wicket to fall when he was caught painfully close to his half century for 47.  Jimmy continued to bat well with Wal Lehmann before he to was caught for the score of 26.  Most batsmen contributed to the score but tight bowling late in the innings restricted the boys in the baggy green to 7/126.The young Light Pass side took to the field to defend their total and started with a wicket to Bradley Boehm in his first over, BB followed  it up with a second wicket in his next over and this forced Angaston to bat defensively for quite some time.  The third scalp came via a runnout and Light Pass seemed to have the match under control but Angaston rallied with a partnership that put the game back on even footing.  Mick Gerhardy swung the momentum with a crucial wicket and a miserly spell of 1/3 from 8 overs which put a huge amount of scoreboard pressure on the Blue Baggers batsmen.  Jimmy Braunack took 2/8 in his second spell to kill off any chance of a come back and finished with 2/16 from his 8 overs, while Chris Sims chimed in with a wicket of his own supplying Paul Koop with a catch.  The boys in the baggy green restricted Ango to 8/96 and recorded an important win.
The man of the match was perpetual birthday boy Jimmy Braunack.
